Very, very tired

Last night we cleaned house for a friend who is not able to do so herself. Today, my back hurts and I am exhausted. I knew there was a reason I try to spread out the housekeeping chores at home! We worked for 5 hours last night, and that didn't even include vacuuming the upstairs. *sigh*
Thank goodness I am able to take a nap when I need one. That's a benefit of being on disability!

How long has it been?

Forever it seems! I'm surprised my LJ is still on here; I would have expected it to be deleted by now. I know I haven't visited it in ages. Maybe I will start using it more; I dunno.

Here are two more chapters.

Title: I’m Not Sorry (chapter 4)

Rating: PG-13

Spoilers: none.

Disclaimer: NCIS doesn’t belong to me. If it did, certain things would be different. :)

Abby drove home from the Georgetown University OB/GYN clinic later that afternoon, the despair of the morning almost completely replaced by euphoria. Seeing the ultrasound of her developing baby had wiped away all traces of uncertainty. She was so excited that she wished she could do cartwheels all the way home.

Tony, McGee, and Ziva had watched surreptitiously as Gibbs came out of the director’s office and took out his anger on the wall. “What’s up?” McGee whispered to the other two while Gibbs and Jenny talked.

“Hell if I know,” Tony whispered back. “I guess she seriously pissed him off.”

“Not the first time,” Ziva put in.

When Gibbs started down the steps they looked at him questioningly, but his face was so grim they pretended to focus on work instead. Tony lifted his gaze just enough to see their team leader put away his gun and badge, grab his coat and stalk off to the elevator.

When he was gone, all three looked up. “What was that about?” asked Ziva. “We have a case. He didn’t even give us instructions.”

“That’s Gibbs for you,” Tony answered, looking at Ziva and failing to notice the other figure on the steps. “He’s well known for –“

“Uh, Tony …” McGee began.

“Agent DiNozzo.”

He turned to see the director standing right in front of him. “Yes, ma’m.”

“Agent Gibbs is on leave. I’m putting you in charge until further notice.”

“I will do my best, Director.”

“Thank you.” She glanced at the three agents. “I have the utmost faith in this team’s ability and discretion.”

A moment later she was gone again. “Discretion,” Ziva murmured. “What did she mean by that?”

“I – uh, I think she meant we should mind our own business,” said McGee, “and not try to figure out what’s up with Gibbs.”

“Damn! You’re probably right, McGeek,” admitted Tony. “And it’s so tempting, too. Well, let’s get to work.”

Title: I’m Not Sorry (chapter 2)

Rating: PG-13

Spoilers: minor for ‘Hiatus’

Disclaimer: NCIS doesn’t belong to me. If it did, certain things would be different. :)

Gibbs and his team were in the field doing interviews for a new case, so the director settled in for meetings and paperwork. But first she called in back-up forensic scientists (it always took at least two to match Abby’s caffeine powered work load) and sent Gibbs an email calling him to her office as soon as he returned.

Title: I’m Not Sorry

Rating: PG-13

Spoilers: none.

Disclaimer: NCIS doesn’t belong to me. If it did, certain things would be different. :) Here’s an example.

Director Jenny Shepard of NCIS strode purposefully into her office, early as usual. Therefore, she was surprised to see a visitor already waiting – one Abigail Sciuto, forensic scientist. She was slumped in a chair, head in her hands, dressed in blue jeans and a nondescript T-shirt.

test post

September 27th, 2006

This is my "wish list" for the future.... :-)

1. digital video/still camera  ~$500
2. more RAM for old computer  ~$100-200
3. storm door  ~$250
4. personal weather station  ~$600

I should buy the storm door first as it is an actual need and the others are just wants. The hole in the screen is so big now even Midnight goes out that way sometimes! The new door will have the ventilation screen on the TOP, so as to discourage curious kitties who want to tear it up!

I went to bed REALLY early last night. I was tired and attempting to catch up on sleep. Hopefully it worked so that I won't get exhausted today -- not at work anyway. We were very busy yesterday. My old chemistry professor came in. The only way I knew though was because I checked in the book he returned! When I looked I saw him sitting with his back to me in the reading area. I had to laugh because I strongly suspect he was avoiding me. He may never come to the library again! LOL I think he's afraid of me. I had a huge crush on him when I was in college and I actually came on to him once (never mind the fact that I was married). He's the professor about whom (if anyone remembers) I wrote the Kioska story. I feel bad for tormenting him so, but at the time I could not control myself (hell, I'm still shaky with the self-control now).

thoughts about my future

I am still thinking about whether to enter submissive training. Am I ready for this? Can I make the choice to trust? I am still researching and what I read is appealing, but that's very different from making a commitment to do it.

R seems to be a bit doubtful about whether he wants to teach me. His last email was rather confusing to me, but I don't know exactly why & so I'm not sure what to ask him to clarify it. This probably makes no sense at all. *sigh*

I'm expected to make a decision by the weekend. I will keep thinking.
